To be clear, I should not be left unsupervised in the kitchen and home section of any store. That was never more obvious than when I was in Bloomingdale’s a couple of weekends ago and couldn’t help but beeline towards a wall of mugs in the Le Creuset section. Mugs are my kryptonite! There were holiday mugs, “marble” mugs, and mugs of every size and color. But the ones that stood out to me were the zodiac mugs! As a Libra, I love something that’s aesthetically pleasing and has some personal significance. Needless to say, I bought it immediately, and it’s quickly become the favorite in my collection.

What Is the Le Creuset Zodiac Mug?

Le Creuset’s zodiac mugs are made from the iconic brand’s durable stoneware, which keeps contents hot or cold, depending on your drink, of course. Each mug has a different interior glaze color, and features an illustration of a zodiac symbol on the front, with the zodiac name written in script on the handle. The mugs hold 14 ounces of liquid  — which is a solid amount and crucial for cold weather — and are safe for the dishwasher, freezer, oven, microwave, and even the broiler (*looks up how to make a crème brûlé latte*).

Unsurprisingly, Le Creuset’s zodiac mugs are very popular and some signs frequently sell out. But you can find a good selection available for purchase on Le Creuset, Amazon, and Sur la Table.

Why I Love the Le Creuset Zodiac Mug

Did I have room for this mug in my mug cabinet? Barely. Did I buy it? Yes, of course. At first, I thought no. But then I saw the interior glaze color, this peaceful cool green, and then I saw my sign written on the handle and I was convinced. I have absolutely no buyer’s remorse. It’s the details that matter. Some of my mugs are too small to hold all the foam from my milk frother, but that’s not the case here. When I make tea, I get a big cup that stays warm a bit longer than some of my ceramic mugs.

Le Creuset’s zodiac mug has become my go-to pick when I open my mug cabinet. It’s cute, hefty, and makes me tremendously happy. It also makes the perfect gift — especially for the holidays. But because these mugs sell out so quickly, consider this your sign to snag yours ASAP.
