I love tea. Most people find it quite surprising when I tell them that I don’t even drink coffee. When it comes to having a warm drink in the morning, it’s always going to be tea and there’s not one brand, menu item, or person that could convince me to change that feeling.

By default, my love of tea brought with it a desire to find the best tea kettle out there and though I’m quite keen on my One-Touch Electric Kettle from Drew Barrymore’s Beautiful brand, I always find it important to have a backup. You know, just in case the one-touch function isn’t actually one-touching like it promises to. The result? My cabinets being filled with a number of stovetop tea kettles for tea brewing of all sizes.

I have certain ones that I swear by for various occasions, but my recent discovery of the Le Creuset Demi Kettle has quickly made it my all-for-one and one-for-all option. What’s so special about this particular kettle, you ask? I mean, it’s just a stovetop kettle, right? Well, not quite!

One of the main reasons this kettle has become my favorite is because I get the same quality that comes with any other Le Creuset item. It’s made with the brand’s signature enamel that’s glazed on top of durable carbon steel and features a cool-to-the-touch black handle for easy pouring. Another thing to love? It heats up … quick!

Unlike many of the other stovetop kettles I have tucked away, the Demi Kettle — which I have in the Deep Teal colorway — is ultra lightweight making it the perfect fit for someone as clumsy as me. This tea kettle is also scratch- and stain-resistant(!), is non-porous and non-reactive, and is compatible with all cooktops — even induction. Score!

The single-tone whistle is loud enough to be heard in another room, but quiet enough to not cause a disruption in your day, so long gone are the days of waking up the entire house while trying to make my 5 a.m. cup of tea. Not a tea drinker? Don’t fret! You can also use it for oatmeal, pour-over coffee, or anything that needs hot, boiling water.

The one thing that I will note that is kind of a problem (but not really) is that the top can be difficult to take off at times. But if you’ve had issues with water boiling through the top in the past or just like to have a tight fit for your own comfort, this is an absolute plus. It is hand wash only though, so if you plan to keep this one around for some time, don’t try to take the dishwasher route.

Le Creuset’s Demi Kettle has become my favorite kitchen accessory, and just like any good accessory, I love that it adds a beautiful pop of color to my currently drab kitchen. Oh, and the fact that it’s on sale right now? I’ll raise my cup to that!
