Lambrusco is the New Rosé

Lambrusco is the New Rosé

Rosé has been the Pink King of picnic baskets and pool-side cafe tables the past few summers. Again this summer we see rosé displays blooming in wine store windows.

While rosé is still enjoying "newfound status" among the trend-conscious, we think a new summer wine trend is afoot ...

Fizzy, fun, and food-friendly, we say Lambrusco is ready to become the new trendy summer wine. Wine critic Eric Asimov blogged about "rosé reluctance" and seems to prefer Lambrusco.

A wise bartender at Franny's introduced us to Lambrusco a few summers back. Since then, we've served Lambrusco at home with grilled meats and were surprised by how well it went with chicken parm.

What do you think? Can Lambrusco bump rosé off the top of the summer wine charts? Have you served Lambrusco at home lately?

P.S. We're not talking about super-sweet Riunité here. If Riunité on ice was your last Lambrusco experience, why not give it another shot this summer?
