Looking for an easy dinner that really packs a punch? Kung pao chicken is your best bet. But before you place an order at your local takeout joint, consider this recipe. With only eight ingredients, this wholesome take on kung pao chicken comes together in 20 minutes. I’d say that’s a weeknight win.

As with most stir-fries, the author notes that this recipe is super versatile. Don’t eat meat? Use tofu instead of chicken! Avoiding grains? Swap in cauliflower rice!

The sauce, which contains coconut aminos (you can use soy sauce or tamari here if that’s what you have at home), Sriracha, chili paste, and honey, is what really makes the dish. It’s salty, sweet, and spicy — everything you need to make plain ol’ chicken breast and green beans sing with flavor.

Once you have your sauce whisked together and your chicken and green beans prepped, the meal comes together quickly in a hot wok or skillet. Serve with some brown rice (microwave a pouch about five minutes before dinner is ready) and garnish with sesame seeds and crushed peanuts!
