It has been almost two years since I brought home my little puppy, Haze, at only three months old. Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than watching him prance around on walks — picking up giant sticks to carry around and show off like a trophy — and I have to say my favorite thing about him is the endless joy he seems to exude.

Though playtime and seeing me after a long day puts an enormous smile on his face, the one thing that really gets his tail wagging is when he gets a special treat. And it’s for that reason I was just as excited as he’s going to be when I caught wind of Krispy Kreme’s National Dog Day celebration, where they will be releasing Doggie Doughnuts for the first time ever in the U.S.

Made just for dogs, Doggie Doughnuts are perfectly baked dog biscuits made using all-natural ingredients and inspired by your favorite Krispy Kreme doughnut flavors. Guaranteed to leave any pup drooling, these puppy-licious treats will be releasing on National Dog Day (that’s Friday August 26, if you didn’t know!) and will be available throughout the weekend as supplies lasts.

Made by Australian-based artisan baked pet treat company, Huds and Toke, Doggie Doughnuts will be available in a limited-edition, dog-inspired six-count box. There will be limited-edition red bandanas available as well — you know, for dogs to walk out of Krispy Kreme in style.

Each Doggie Doughnut is designed for dogs of all ages and sizes and are made with a hard-baked cookie and ingredients like carob — which is a substitute for chocolate. Pups that are big fans of treats can expect to find flavors including Original Glazed, Chocolate Cookie, Chocolate Sprinkles, Chocolate Iced, Strawberry Sprinkles, and Chocolate Cheesecake.

“Our dogs have given us so much love and comfort to help us through these last couple of years. They deserve this special treat,” said Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme. And honestly, I couldn’t agree more.

If all of this excites you like it does me (and probably will for our dogs, too), you can find more information on the special drop here.
