The Most Popular KitchenAid Stand Mixer Color in Every State
The KitchenAid stand mixer is one of those items that literally will never (ever) go out of style. Knowing you want one is the easy part; the hard part is choosing the color. And this decision is only getting harder because there are so many colors to choose from now! Do you go with the classic Empire Red? Or maybe the trendy, vintage color of Pistachio is more your type? It turns out your color choice can say a lot about you — including which state you’re from! KitchenAid recently released a heat map showing the most popular colors state by state, and the result is a calmingly beautiful patchwork of differences between states.
Blue Velvet turned out to be the most popular color, with 18 states voting for it, followed up by Aqua Sky in 10 states and eight more choosing Kyoto Glow — a bright green. The only states to choose a color that no other state did was Idaho, with Empire Red, and Florida, with Contour Silver. And only two states — Delaware and Iowa — chose Black Matte.
Unlike the Google-based maps we’ve seen in the past, this one reached out to about 100 people in each state and actually asked them about their preferences, rather than relying on what they need to or choose to type into a search bar. But even in this survey, they couldn’t resist asking folks about their baking preferences — and found that most states are most fond of apple pie. Twenty-one of them voted for the classic, while 10 more picked pumpkin pie. A notable surprise came in third place — nine states turned out to choose baklava, which means it beat out the fourth place, chocolate chip cookies.
