Immersion blenders are one of our favorite kitchen tools. Getting one can save you space and even save you money if you want to get one as an alternative to a regular blender. See, an immersion blender can jump in for many tasks that you'd use a regular blender for — and then you don't have to wrestle with a heavy base and hard-to-attach jar.
Even if you have a blender you know and love, an immersion blender comes in handy plenty. The stick design allows you to blend in just about any vessel, which means no more blending in batches. You're left with fewer dirty dishes to clean afterwards as well.
Need more convincing to get a immersion blender? One of the top-rated budget models, the KitchenAid 2-Speed blender, is on sale at Target — now through Saturday.

Designed with one-touch operation, the two-speed blender is incredibly comfortable to hold. Use it with the included plastic measuring cup (it has a lid for easy storage and a nonstick base to keep it from slipping) or directly in a deep pan or pot. The base of the blending stick keeps the blade from scratching up surfaces. It also allows for airflow, allowing the powerful motor and blades to crush, grind, and blend most things, even green smoothies.
Cleanup is also easy: The removable blending arm is dishwasher-safe, but if you don't have a dishwasher, you can fill up the blending jar with a bit of soapy water and blend it briefly. That will clear off any food still on the blade, then you can clean the rest off with a sponge. (Just keep your fingers away from the actual blade!)
