Keto dieters often tell us that the hardest part of the plan is actually just figuring out what foods/recipes are considered keto. At its core, the oh-so-trendy keto diet is about elimination: no fruits, starchy vegetables (potatoes, carrots), whole grains, legumes, refined grains, sugar, or dairy. What is allowed? Meat, eggs, cheese, high-fat dairy (cream and butter), poultry, seafood, and plant-based fats like oil, nuts, seeds, and avocados. Makes sense … until you go to plan a meal or pick a snack. Which is why there are all sorts of subscription meals and boxes on the market. (We told you it was a trendy diet!)

Here are some of our favorite mail-order keto boxes.

1. The Keto Box

You get a few options for this subscription box service: You can order one on a month-to-month basis, or get a three-, six-, or 12-month subscription (saving more money the longer you go). You’ll get more than 10 low-carb keto snacks in each box — we’re talking things like on-the-go snacks (bars, cookies, sweets, nuts, meat), baking ingredients (cookie and brownie mixes, keto sweeteners), condiments, and drinks.

Sign up: The Keto Box, from $40 a month

2. Green Chef

Green Chef is like Blue Apron, only it features meals specifically designed for the keto or Paleo lifestyles. The meals come together in around 30 minutes and menus include things like Smoky Chicken with Cotija, Thai Shaved Steak Salad, and Pork & Veggie Stir-Fry. You can choose how many meals you want and how frequently you need them delivered.

Sign up: Green Chef, from $10 per meal

3. Territory Foods

With Territory Foods, you get ready-made meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner!) that you just have to heat and eat (or freeze, if you want to save some for later). Pick the 10 Meals per week Keto menu plan and you’ll get meals like Lamb Ragout over Quinoa Pilaf, Brazilian Steak with Polenta Muffin, and Lentin and Spinach Shepherd’s Pie. Fun fact: You can even get your order delivered to certain gyms if home delivery doesn’t work for you.

Sign up: Territory Foods, from $14 per meal

4. Factor 75

Another option that sends fully prepared meals, Factor 75 offers dishes that are keto, Paleo, dairy-free, and more. Offering breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, you can pick your meals or let the company pick them for you. The menu the week we looked included the following dishes: Cheeseburger Casserole, Italian Roasted Pork, and a Keto Poblano Bowl.

5. Thrive Market

This one is technically not a subscription service, but you might want to re-order it again and again. See, Thrive Market packages these starter kits for keto and Whole30, and they come with all sorts of basics to help stock some basics. The keto kit includes seven items: almond butter, avocado oil mayo, bone broth, salami, and more. There’s also usually a larger kit for $57; it’s sold out now but company reps say it will be back in stock soon.

Buy: Keto Starter Kit, $42 (normally $57)

6. Butcher Box

As its name implies, Butcher Box is all about meat. Namely, 100% grass-fed beef, free range organic chicken, and heritage breed pork. You can choose from a Mixed Box of all three meats, a Beef & Pork Box, a Beef & Chicken Box, an All Beef Box, or a Custom Box of your favorite cuts. Need inspo for what to make once your box arrives? The site features a slew of recipes to get you started.

Buy: Butcher Box, from $129/month for curated or $149/month for custom

7. Carnivore Club

Unlike Butcher Box that specializes in raw meat, Carnival Club delivers premium cured meats that are ready to eat right out of the box. You can opt for the Classic Box that’s packed with artisanal cured meats like salamis, prosciuttos, and bacon, or opt for the Snack Box that’s loaded with snackable meaty treats like jerky, meat sticks, biltong and more. They also offer a Keto Meat Snack Sampler, that’s currently 15 percent off.

Buy: Carnivore Club, from $25

Have you tried any of these? What’d you think?
