Other highlights: The heart and soul of this book are the three chapters in the middle covering green juices, root-based juices, and citrus-based juices. If you’re into juices as a basis for a healthy lifestyle or are considering a juice cleanse, the recipes covered in these three chapters are, literally, your bread-and-butter — the juices you should drink every day. The recipes include the nutritional breakdown of the ingredients being called for and their effect on your overall health.

But it’s not all serious daily juices! There are plenty of other fruit juices, infused waters, nut milks combinations, and hearty smoothies to round out your day of juice love. While these aren’t recommended if you’re focused on cleansing, they are great additions to your regular daily diet.

In addition to all the recipes, this book also provides comprehensive information on the health benefits of juicing, best practices for going on a juice cleanse, how to approach shopping for ingredients, and how to choose the best juicer for your needs. The language is clear and approachable, and the information is laid out in a way that’s easy to both absorb on first read and reference later on when actually in the kitchen.

A lot of juicing cookbooks have crossed my desk in the past few months (Juice? A trend, you say?!), and to date, this one feels like the most comprehensive and accessible. If you’re looking for one book to really get you up to speed on what daily juicing and juice cleanses are all about, this one will do it for you. Go forth and juice!
