This $20 Storage Gadget Instantly Doubled My Pantry Space (No, I’m Not Being Dramatic)
It’s no secret I have a tiny kitchen — my one-bedroom apartment boasts a whopping two cabinets, zero drawers, a mini fridge, and one compact slab of kitchen counter. (And yes, I cook!). As the Cleaning and Organizing Editor at The Kitchn, you can imagine that kitchen organization (especially for tighter spaces) is top of mind for me, and with smart tweaks and products, I make it work. But I did have one kitchen clutter problem that I was stumped on: cutting board storage. Anyone else?
My cupboards aren’t tall enough to fit my cutting boards vertically, which would be ideal. Tiny cabinet problems! I felt like no matter how I stored them, it was a struggle to use them as often as I do, which is a few times a day. That is, until I discovered the smartest, space-saving cutting board storage product of all time. Enter: the Joseph Joseph DoorStore Chop Cutting Board Set.
Perfect for smaller kitchens with top or bottom cupboards, this set comes with a 3M adhesive wall, door, or cabinet mount that secures in just 30 seconds without any tools. Finally, a simple solution to grabbing my cutting boards in a snap without juggling everything else overflowing out of my cabinet! (We’re big fans of vertical storage here.) Plus, the adhesive leaves no residue of any kind, so it’s a great option for renters like myself.
Admittedly, it was also time for some new cutting boards for me, so that was a plus. And at only $19.99, it just made sense! The larger board is 13 3/8 x 9 1/2 inches and the smaller one is 10 7/8 x 7 7/8 inches, and they fit snugly in their chic plastic case. Although I haven’t tried it, I’m sure you could store other boards of the same size in the organizer.
The boards themselves are a real treat, too — they’re super light but sturdy with four non-slip feet on each side, so you can use both sides, and ultimately, they’ll last longer. They’re a great size for my tiny kitchen cooking adventures, and they’re super easy to clean, too.
It’s also a great gift for anyone moving into their own apartment for the first time, or college students who like to cook. So, not to be dramatic, but I truly think every small-kitchen dweller (or solo-living icon) needs this set. Add it to cart before it’s gone!
