There’s no rule book for lighting decor. And while you might gravitate towards setting up cozy lamps in your study or bedroom, you might also want to consider plugging one in on your kitchen countertop.

To illustrate this point, Joanna Gaines recently posted a clip to her Instagram page showing off a gorgeous-looking jalapeño-cheddar sourdough. If you peek into the corner, you’ll discover how she adds a pop of brightness to her kitchen.

In the video, you can spot a ceramic lamp in a cream shade next to her golden sink. You can find a version of this light from Hearth & Hand, a home decor line by Gaines exclusively at Target, for $64.99. It features a fluted base with a drum shade.

We decided to do some more digging on her Instagram page and learned that she actually has multiple lamps throughout her kitchen countertops. In another clip, Gaines hosts a home tour of sorts, and you can spot another piece of lighting. The nice part? It’s also available at Target for $89.99.

Gaines’ ingenious lamp decor proves that you don’t need to rip out a bunch of electrical wiring in your walls or drill a bunch of holes in your ceiling to add a pop of brightness to your kitchen. You can stick with a minimalist approach by adding an earth-toned lamp on your countertop, or you can go full-on maximalist and buy one with gold trimming or a checkered candle stick base to infuse a hint of radiance into your cooking space.
