I Tried Jennifer Garner’s 2-Ingredient Blueberry Mocktail and Will Be Drinking It All Summer
If you follow Jennifer Garner on Instagram, you know she loves to cook. During the early days of the pandemic the Texas-born actress launched “Pretend Cooking Show” to share what she was preparing for her kids (and show how much of an Ina Garten fangirl she is).
Most recently, while at an Angel City FC match, Jennifer posted a photo to her Instagram stories of her drinking one of her signature mocktails, which she originally posted about in 2020. In her video, Garner explains how her go-to treat during COVID times was this simple, two-ingredient refreshment and she “just needed you to know about it.”
So I decided it was time to try her signature mocktail, both with and without booze (for good measure).
How to Make Jennifer Garner’s Signature Mocktail
Grab your glass of choice, fill it up most of the way with sparkling water, then add a splash of blueberry juice. You’re ready to sip and feel refreshed. Garner opted for San Pellegrino, which is less bubbly than, say, La Croix, but any seltzer will do. For blueberry juice she reaches for Lakewood Organic Pure Blueberry Juice. And that is literally all it takes to be enjoying a refreshing mocktail on a hot summer day.
For the boozy version, add a shot (or two) of alcohol, then the seltzer, and top off with a splash of blueberry juice. You can either shake it over ice before straining into a cup and garnishing, or take the easy route and pour the alcohol into your cup over ice, add the seltzer and blueberry juice, then stir before garnishing.
My Honest Review of Jennifer Garner’s Signature Mocktail
Blueberry seltzer sounds delicious as a concept, and hearing Garner’s recommendation only made it more appealing. I love the simplicity of the drink, and found it to be a nice option for when I’m not in the mood for alcohol. Definitely sip it over ice!
When I am in the mood, Garner’s mocktail paired wonderfully with tequila, and I can imagine that vodka and rum would be solid alternatives as well. You may need to play around with the proportions to get the exact ratio you are looking for.
2 Tips for Making Jennifer Garner’s Signature Mocktail
- Swap in another juice: There is no right or wrong here. If blueberry juice does not appeal to you, try another juice that you enjoy, like pineapple or cranberry. Additionally, the “splash” of blueberry juice can be any size, depending on how sweet you want the drink.
- Add herbs: To make this drink feel more special, add a sprig of fresh mint, basil, or even thyme.
