Jennifer Garner may be known for blockbuster hits like 13 Going On 30, but you may not know she’s pretty amazing in the kitchen, too. Since 2017, the 49-year-old actress has been sharing some of her favorite recipes on her #PretendCookingShow, which she films from her very own kitchen and posts on social media. This week, Jen donned her apron for a good cause: Baking cookies for burned-out health care workers.

“For a happy day — show your local 🌟 First Responders 🌟 some love. They are still in the thick of it and miles past burn out. Thank you, @countyem_la Doctors and Nurses! Keep going,” she posted on Instagram on Monday, January 24. To make the chocolate chip cookies extra sweet, she even hand delivered them in a basket to first responders at a local Los Angeles hospital.

Jen’s whipped up everything from beef Bourguignon to chicken noodle soup on her #PretendCookingShow, but she seems to especially love baking. Back in September, she shared brown butter pumpkin oatmeal cookies and in July, she posted a potluck-favorite blackberry cobbler (with a guest appearance from her mom). And while it’s not exactly baking, I’d be remiss to leave out Jen’s simple-but-delicious maple butter I still can’t get enough of.

Jen didn’t share a recipe for her cookies this time, but she did encourage fans to follow suit and bake first responder cookies of their own. If you need some do-gooder inspo, we’ve got you covered: Try these brown butter salted caramel chocolate chip cookies or these cowboy cookies.
