Valentine’s Day is next week. I felt like I had to get that information out of the way for anyone, like me, who has been sitting around thinking, Why is everyone writing so many Valentine’s Day stories right now? I still haven’t taken off all my New Year’s Eve makeup. Valentine’s Day is a million years away. But Valentine’s Day is actually next week, so you should start making plans.

Personally, I don’t really like going out on Valentine’s Day. The restaurants are too busy and crowded, the regular menus have usually been tossed over for a Valentine’s Day prix fixe that never has exactly what you want, and it’s impossible to get a babysitter. I’d rather celebrate Valentine’s Day by hunkering down in my house with couch wine and fancy cheese, and now it looks like we can add a whole box of Jeni’s ice cream to that menu.

If you don’t live near a Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, it can be extremely exasperating to see all your friends talk about their favorite flavors. But it turns out Jeni’s delivers, and they have a whole special Valentine’s Day box that can be delivered right to your — or your loved one’s — door.

The Valentine’s Day box includes five pints of Jeni’s ice cream in Brambleberry Crisp, Gooey Butter Cake, Darkest Chocolate, Roxbury Road, and Cookies in Cream. It costs $55, which is not that bad when compared to the price of fancy chocolates (and with this you never have to bite into something expecting caramel and wind up with a mouthful of one of the weird cremes).

For those who do like their chocolate, you can also get the All the Chocolates collection. That one includes a pint of Dark Chocolate Peppermint, Darkest Chocolate, Milkiest Chocolate, and Roxbury Road for $48.

If you’d rather assemble your own box, Jeni’s has a minimum order of three pints for delivery, and you can mix and match your favorite flavors (I am eyeballing that goat cheese with red cherries, for sure).

And there’s good news for those of us who feel like holidays are always sneaking up on us, because Jeni’s Splendid delivery is tailor-made for procrastinators. You can order as late as Tuesday, February 13, and it will still arrive by the 14th as long as you get your order in by 2 p.m. EST and select one-day shipping.

What’s your favorite Jeni’s Splendid ice cream flavor?
