Jamie Oliver Created the Most Tricked-Out Kitchen in His Car
Food Network star and British chef Jamie Oliver recently teamed up with Land Rover to create what’s got to be the ultimate car for any food-lover. And he really didn’t hold back. Seriously, this is like an episode of Pimp My Ride with a delicious twist.
In a three-part series of ads, Oliver shows off all of his customized SUV’s best assets, including a slow cooker under the hood, a spit roast that mounts to the grill, and a countertop — complete with gas stove burners and a full sink! — which slides out from the trunk. There are even butter churners on the wheel caps and a toaster in the console up front. Yet, somehow, there’s still room for the chef, his wife, and their five kids in the cab.
But there are even more distinct, smart details in this kitchen on wheels, like a hanging herb garden that grows out of the rear windows, an olive oil dispenser that pops out of the hatch, a pasta roller and cutter that’s powered by the car engine, and a fully stocked knife drawer and spice rack.
During a recent appearance on Good Morning Britain, Oliver put everything into action for a full-service breakfast on live television. The completely customized car allowed him whip up huevos rancheros with fresh tomatoes, avocado, and hot sauce. “Traffic jams and camping will never be the same again!” he joked. In all honesty, we’re jealous of the epic cross-country, never-hangry road trips the family can embark on in this thing.
