Is your grocery totally out of pasta? Have no fear, your favorite Italian grandmother is here to show you how to make your own pasta at home. “Handmade Pasta with Grandma” is an Airbnb Experience outside of Rome, where visitors can learn how to make pasta from scratch with an Italian grandma, Nonna Nerina. But because we can’t go to Rome right now (for many reasons), the experience is coming to us.

Nerina is now holding streaming pasta-making classes for just $50. Classes with the Italian grandma are just on weekends, but one of the granddaughters, Chiara Nicolanti, will run the weekday classes. A week before your class starts, they’ll send you a list of ingredients to pick up and any cookware that might be required (but don’t worry, they say they keep things simple and there’s a good chance you already have most of the things you need).

Live streaming the classes is definitely a new experience for this nonna. “The first time trying to let her understand that people could see her and hear her [over video chat] was like, the craziest thing,” Nicolanti said to Matador Network in an interview. “It was supposed to be an hour class, and it lasted two hours, and people were laughing all the time. She never stops, she never waits for me, so it was really crazy, but I think this is what people want. They want an Italian grandma making a mess with them for an hour.”

You’ll also get some translated notes from Nonna Nerina as a guide, as well as a fun wine pairing and suggested Spotify playlist! Each recipe you’ll make has been passed down, so it’s super special.
