Labor Day — and all the exciting get-togethers and grill-outs that come with it — is almost here (can you believe it?). If you tend to wait until the last minute to stock up on grilling essentials like chicken wings or burgers for this three-day-weekend — or, like me, you still haven’t done your back-to-school shopping — you may be wondering if some of your go-to stores are open for Labor Day

The answer, of course, depends on where you want to shop. While many stores close down for holidays, the nation’s largest retailer — Walmart — is typically open every year on Labor Day. That means you can make a last-minute run for condiments, crayons, or whatever else you need to stock up on over the holiday weekend.

Most Walmart locations are open during their normal business hours (6 a.m. to 11 p.m.) on the holiday, so you’ll have plenty of time to peruse the aisles. Specific hours may vary from location to location, so if you’d rather not show up to an empty store with a long shopping list, check with your local Walmart before heading over using the Store Finder page.

If you’re not lucky enough to have a Walmart nearby, or yours happens to be closed, don’t worry: You can order online 24/7/365! Otherwise, consider this a gentle reminder to stock up on everything you need before the holiday weekend arrives. That way, you’ll have more time to soak up the last official weekend of summer!
