Instant Pot Just Released a New Model! Here’s What’s Different About It.
For all the press and buzz that the Instant Pot gets, executives at the brand don’t toot their own horns nearly as much as they should. Case in point: The company quietly released a new model yesterday and we just happened to see it online. The new model is called the Duo Nova and, while there’s lots to say about it (which we’ll do in a bit below), there’s one extra-cool new feature that we’re excited about.
The Best New Feature on the Instant Pot Duo Nova
This new model has an Easy Seal Lid, which automatically sets to seal when you close it (with older versions, you had to this yourself and it was easy to forget!). No more wasting time because you could have sworn you sealed it but actually did not.
It also has an Easy Steam Release Button, which sits an inch or two away from the steam nozzle, that you can press to gently release the steam. (This keeps your fingers out of the way of the hot steam!) And it also releases the steam gently and diffuses it more than the other machines.
Buy: Duo Nova, $81 (normally $100)
It’s like the Duo, in that it’s a 7-in-1 machine — it’s a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, and yogurt maker. Plus, you can set it to keep food warm for, say, someone who’s coming home late. And you can sauté in it (it actually has three different sauté settings). However, the Duo Nova has a fancier interface with a status bar to monitor your progress, a delay start button for easy breakfasts, and new easy-to-read icons.
Right now, the Duo Nova is only available in the 6-quart option, but it will soon be released in the 3- and 8-quart size, as well.
This isn’t the first time the folks at Instant Pot did some covert product release: Just a few weeks ago, the company also quietly launched the Instant Pot DUO in three new colors (mint, white, and an orange-y red). If WE ran Instant Pot, we’d be up, shouting on a rooftop virtually every day!
