A Cheaper Version of the Instant Pot Is on Sale Right Now
It’s no secret how much we love a good multi-cooker around here. Short of ordering takeout, these machines are the best bets for having a warm, delicious meal ready when you get home from work.
We’ve tested and written about plenty of multi-cookers, including options from Cuisinart, Crock-Pot, and, of course, the cult-favorite Instant Pot. Today, however, we found one on Amazon that we haven’t seen before.
Turns out, there’s a new (and more affordable) cooker in town: The COSORI 8 Quart 8-in-1 Multifunctional Cooker.
Admittedly, this option looks and operates just like all the other machines out there. It has six cooking functions — bake, sauté, boil, steam, slow cook, and pressure cook — and 17 smart programs ranging from yogurt to rice. CONSORI does claim this model features a special steam technology that cooks food up to 70 percent faster, but we have yet to put it to the test.
This cooker might not come from a big brand like All-Clad or Instant Pot, but it is significantly cheaper. The 8-Quart Instant Pot DUO, for example, costs $140. The 8-quart CONSORI, on the other hand, usually goes for $100. And today, it’s marked down to $80.
We know what you’re thinking: A cheap multi-cooker sounds like a recipe for disaster. Not only did CONSORI’s cooker receive an “Amazon’s Choice” badge, but it also boasts a 4.1 rating and more than 1,000 positive reviews on the site.
“I can honestly say that it is super easy to use and now I am going to chuck out my old one,” one reviewer says.
“This is my new go-to appliance,” says another.
