10 Simple Infused Waters That Will Help You Hydrate
While we all know the importance of drinking plenty of water each day, we also know how hard it can be to do — it’s not exactly the most exciting beverage to enjoy. Since water is such a blank slate, however, it’s pretty easy to make it a whole lot more fun.
Rummage through your fridge for some fresh fruit and herbs to add flavor and color and you may never be bored with a pitcher of water again. Here are 10 of our most favorite infusions.
1. Cucumber + Lemon + Lime
This one is equal parts classic and refreshing. Toss a pile of cucumber, lemon, and lime slices into a pitcher of water and you’ll be instantly transported to the spa. Keep in mind the longer it sits, the more pronounced the flavor will become.
2. Strawberry + Basil
Sweet, juicy strawberry slices combined with savory torn fresh basil give water a cocktail-esque vibe (although this is a whole lot more refreshing).
3. Peach + Raspberry
Inspired by the classic dessert of Peach Melba, this one is fruit and fun. Fill your water with peach slices and a few big handfuls of raspberries and get sipping.
4. Grapefruit + Rosemary
We’d say this infused water is the most sophisticated of the bunch. Toss quartered slices of red grapefruit into a pitcher of water with a couple of sprigs of fresh rosemary (smashed between your hands first to release their aromatic oils). The rosemary flavor can become very strong over time, so once you get to the ideal flavor level (check after about 30 minutes) you can toss the sprigs.
5. Orange + Blueberry
Tangy blueberries pair well with juicy citrus. Combine orange slices with a few handfuls of blueberries for an extra-colorful, sweet-tart water.
6. Mixed Berries + Mint
All the berries. Fill your water with handfuls of raspberries, blackberries, and sliced strawberries, along with some torn fresh mint leaves, and enjoy this one’s refreshing sweetness.
7. Watermelon + Kiwi
It’s hard not to smile when sipping this infused water. Just load your pitcher up with chunks of watermelon (seedless will be easier to sip) and slices of kiwi.
8. Cantaloupe + Honeydew + Lime
A mix of chunks of cantaloupe and honeydew melon are so sweet and juicy, they don’t need much else, but lime slices add some bright tartness.
9. Pineapple + Ginger + Mint
Chunks of pineapple lend tropical vibes to the bracing combination of slices of fresh ginger and torn fresh mint leaves.
10. Mango + Strawberry
Sweet chunks of mango are a perfect pair to juicy, candy-like sliced strawberries. This is one everyone can agree on and one of our favorites to share with this kids.
