Ina and Jeffrey Garten are the embodiment of #CoupleGoals. They’ve been married since 1968, and in December they’ll celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Somehow, after being married nearly half a century, they still seem to be as ridiculously in love with each other as a pair of 20-something newlyweds. They make eyes at each other at red carpet events, drink wine on the sofa, and generally just adore spending time in each other’s company. They’re the most romantic couple I can think of, so of course Ina Garten has planned something wonderful for Valentine’s Day.

“Dinner at a lovely restaurant is always nice but for me, a home-cooked meal is the best way to say ‘I love you!'” Ina Garten wrote in her latest newsletter. “For Valentine’s Day dessert this year, I’m making a Coeur a la Creme with Fresh Raspberry Sauce for Jeffrey.”

The recipe for Ina Garten’s Coeur a la Creme is on her website, and it is pink and heart-shaped and looks perfect for Valentine’s Day. It involves whipping cream cheese, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, lemon zest, and seeds from a vanilla bean together, then setting the mixture in a heart-shaped mold overnight. When it’s ready to eat, she’ll drizzle it with a sauce made of fresh raspberries.

It’s a very pretty-looking dessert. Best of all, it can be made ahead of time, so it doesn’t require taking any time away from the holiday.

“I’ll whip it up (literally!) the day before and then serve it cold from the fridge after dinner,” Garten wrote. “I have a feeling my valentine is going to be very happy!!”

Ina and Jeffrey Garten are my romantic idols. I was planning on just getting some sparkling wine and ice cream for Valentine’s Day, but now I’m thinking I need to up my game a little bit to keep the romance on more of an Ina and Jeffrey level. And that Coeur a la Creme does look delicious. (I don’t have a heart-shaped mold, though. I wonder if Ina would say, “If you don’t have a heart-shaped mold, a round one is fine.”)
