We can’t deny that we love talking about Stanley Tucci and Ina Garten here at Kitchn, but when it involves the two culinary stars teaming up together, well that’s a whole other story. The two of them recently came together for the season three premiere of Be My Guest with Ina Garten, and can you believe that Tucci made Garten her first martini?

In an exclusive clip shared by People, Garten reveals to Tucci that she’s yet to try a martini and the conversation is so relatable. “Can I tell you a secret?” Garten asks. “I’ve never had a martini in my life. Seriously, so this is my first.”

“Jeez, you gotta get out more,” Tucci jokes in the clip.

The thing is we might assume that the Barefoot Contessa has tried it all! It’s no secret her cocktail recipes have inspired some of us to run to the grocery store to try the drinks at home. So when she shared that she hasn’t tried a martini, I personally could relate because I’ve never tried one either.

At the start of the clip, Garten leads Tucci into the kitchen where they’ll be making the martinis and reveals that she’s made oysters Rockefeller to pair with the drink. Speaking to the camera, Garten teases the viewer, “How jealous are you?”

Tucci – who is known for his expert mixology on Instagram — starts by saying, “there are a number of ways to make a martini,” and for this particular one, he decides to put less vermouth in it so it’s not super dry.

So what does Stanley Tucci’s signature martini recipe actually consist of? Well, it’s quite simple actually. In a pitcher with ice, he combines 3/4 ounce of white vermouth with 4 ounces of gin before stirring the drink and straining it into a chilled martini glass. Then comes what may be the most important part: he rubs a lemon rind on the rim of the glass before dropping it into the drink as a garnish. He also adds an olive because why not?

Ina’s reaction to her first martini? “That’s gorgeous. It’s totally gorgeous.”

Ina and Stanley fans will want to mark their calendars as the third season of Be My Guest with Ina Garten premieres on March 5 on both Food Network and Discovery+. The show will also welcome guests Misty Copeland, Norah Jones, and Laura Linney throughout the season. We can’t wait!
