Ina Garten Just Shared Her “Women Who Rock” Playlist and It’s Filled with Classic Songs
Whether it’s mastering a few reliable, impressive dishes to keep in our back pocket or learning the most elegant, easy way to set a table, we’re always trying to be a little more like Ina Garten. Lucky for us, the Barefoot Contessa has just released a playlist to make that even easier.
As she posted on her Instagram and blog this week, the first thing she — and most of us — do when we get into the kitchen is to crank the music. “It really gets my creative juices flowing!” The playlist she shares, available on Apple Music and on Spotify, is called “Women Who Rock,” and she describes it as “a compilation of lots of my favorite songs by female artists.”
The list of 48 songs includes a bunch of classics: Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time.” But she does occasionally hit on a few gems that are newer, like the new supergroup The Highwomen with “Redesigning Women,” “Bartender” by Lady Antebellum, a few Martha Reeves & The Vandellas songs, and “Brave” from Sara Bareilles.
I can totally see Ina jamming out to this playlist with Jeffrey or her amazing assistant, Lidey, while she arranges a cheese platter in her kitchen, or shakes up a batch of cocktails. I think it’s only right that we all follow suit and do the same.
