As a child, I thought ice trays were magical. My mom used them to create a variety of my favorite frozen treats. From Kool-Aid-flavored ice all the way to homemade popsicles, the possibilities felt endless. What never crossed my mind, however, was that an ice cube tray could be used to create my favorite warm foods as well. So, imagine my surprise when I came across Deimante Dabravolskis’s (@dliciously.inspired on Instagram) creative recipe for Ice Cube Tray Pizza Rolls

Like many ‘90s kids, I spent Saturday mornings eating Totino’s Pizza Rolls while watching my favorite cartoons. And now looking back, this easy-to-follow recipe would have been the perfect way for me to learn the independence and freedom of cooking homemade alternatives to familiar brands. Now, as a full grown adult, I look forward to the nostalgia that making this dish is sure to evoke.

To experience the goodness of this homemade pizza roll, line the tray with your favorite crescent or pizza dough. After filling each cube space with pizza sauce, cheese, and your preferred topping like sausage or pepperoni, add a top layer of dough before removing any excess from the edges. Place the ice cube tray in the freezer until the rolls are frozen. When you’re ready to cook the rolls, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes. And voilà! Homemade pizza rolls on-the-ready whenever you’re ready!

Like any good set of pizza rolls though, the session is not complete without a delicious dipping sauce to match, and this quick ranch dressing would be the perfect option. After you take on this savory dish, you may be craving something sweet. If you are, luckily, Dabravolskis has this sweet ricotta & jam ice cube tray pastry bites recipe that will become your new favorite go-to dessert.
