Ice Cream Pie! Made with 1-Ingredient Ice Cream
Take a look at this great idea for an easy and rather lowfat dessert from reader Leslie. She took that amazing, miraculous 1-ingredient ice cream and made an ice cream pie out of it. Read on to see what she did!
Here’s what Leslie says:
It was really fun to make! First I crushed up some walnuts and sprinkled them on the bottom of a chocolate pie crust. Then I put the bananas and a little agave (agave because my bananas weren’t very sweet)in the food processor and watched it crumble and unfold into… banana ice cream! I poured that into the pie crust and dripped organic chocolate sauce on top. Then I put that into the freezer for a few minutes while I made the other batch of bananas. This time I added peanut butter. Very yummy! I then poured the peanut butter banana ice cream on top of the first layer and let that freeze. Before serving I again dripped the organic chocolate sauce on top and garnished with whipped cream! So good!!! I might try experimenting by adding different flavorings into the bananas like mint, coffee, different chopped nuts…
That looks amazing, Leslie! And it’s a great idea; the banana ice cream is so easy to make, and it’s very spreadable when it is first made. So it would be easy to spread it in a pie crust and freeze it. Yum!
