Who are we kidding? Ice cream is a year-round treat. It’s just that it tastes even better during the summer — especially when it’s homemade!

Whether you have a hand-me-down machine that could stand to be replaced or you’re new to the churn-your-own process, we’ve got some good news: Three of our favorite ice cream makers happen to be on sale right now.

At less than $30 (and an average rating of 4.3 stars), this version is a great starter model. Using a similar hand-cranked motion of classic home ice cream makers, the motor at the top does the stirring for you. In as little as 20 minutes, you can have homemade ice cream. And you don’t even have to put in any elbow grease — but you do have to pick up some rock salt, so you’ll have to plan ahead.

If 20 minutes is too long to wait, this nearly instant ice cream maker might be the one for you. All you have to do is pour sweetened cream and any other ingredients you want into the frozen dish and mix. While it’s not great for a crowd, its a fun activity to do with kids. It’s also an easy way to customize your ice cream with mix-ins like seasonal fruit or candies.

If you’re looking to really upgrade your homemade ice cream game, this model is the way to go. Fully automated, you just have to freeze the container overnight and select the kind of frozen dessert you want to make (gelato, ice cream, or sorbet), and the paddle adjusts to the optimal speed. The lid at the top also makes it possible to add mix-ins, like nuts or chocolate, toward the end of the cycle. A similar model without the pre-programmed settings (just an on/off switch) is also just $88 from Cuisinart.
