All-Clad pots and pans are not inexpensive (understatement of the year?), so you of course want to keep them in tip-top condition. You want to be able to cook in them and use them, but you also don’t want them to show their wear and tear. Ideally, you’d like for them to always look good as new — with no discolorations, and no evidence that you’ve made countless steaks in them.

How To Clean All-Clad Stainless Steel Pots and Pans
What You Need
- Bar Keepers Friend (Note: BKF is, far and away, the top-recommended cleaner for All-Clad and stainless steel in general.)
- Water
- A non-abrasive scrubbing pad (a Dobie pad or non-abrasive sponge is ideal to minimize scratches)
- A detail brush, like a toothbrush, to clean crevices
- A toothpick
- Rubber gloves (optional, but recommended, to protect your hands)
Instructions
- Sprinkle your pan with Bar Keepers Friend: Add a very small amount of tap water into the pot, followed by a couple of generous shakes of Bar Keepers Friend.
- Mix the water and powder into a paste: Using your scrubby sponge, mix the water and powder together to form a paste-like texture.
- Spread the paste so that it covers the pan: With the sponge, spread the mixture all around the pot. Don’t forget the sides or walls. If you need to make more, just add more BKF and more water.
- Scrub: Scrub away at the stains.
- Make more paste as needed: If necessary, add more Bar Keepers Friend to your sponge for pesky spots, and grab your detail brush to clean out crevices.
- Repeat for the outside of the pan: Don’t forget to clean the outside of the pan. If any stains and discoloration remain around the All-Clad logo, grab a toothpick, dip it in the cleaning paste, and work away at it.
- Rinse and dry: Rinse the pan as you usually would, and then dry it with a lint-free towel.
Note
If you want to clean your All-Clad pots and pans now, but you don’t have Bar Keepers Friend on hand, you can also use Bon Ami cleaning powder or baking soda with the same technique.
