We’ve already seen how Smitten Kitchen’s Deb Perelman organizes her food cabinets. The other interesting thing about her kitchen setup, though, is how she stores her baking pans. We thought it was such a smart solution for a small kitchen!

Here’s how she does it.

Deb uses racks on top of her kitchen cabinets to organize and store all her bakeware, a habit she started in her old (much smaller) apartment. She says it’s one of her “favorite kitchen organizing tricks.”

Not only does this make use of that oft under-utilized space above the cabinets, but it also lets Deb see all her bakeware at one glance. Yes, things stored on top of the cabinets are prone to dust and grease, but so what if you need to clean things a little more often? It’s worth it just for the extra space!

And given Deb’s regular baking and recipe development, we have a hunch these are used (and cleaned) too often to build up dust.
