Hot or Not: The Cheesy Football
While reading the article in this week’s New York Times Dining section about cellphones being useful kitchen accessories, we paused on one recipe that was mentioned as being a popular click at KraftFoods.com: the Cheesy Football.
Yes, the Super Bowl is coming up soon, and we’re not necessarily opposed to an easy cheese ball as an appetizer, even if there are pimiento strips as laces, but…
This classic mash-up of soft cheeses and mayonnaise, coated in chopped nuts, is one we’ve seen (and eaten) many times at cocktail parties. It’s one of those dishes that just keeps trucking along. Really, it’s not so crazy: cream cheese, shredded cheddar, green onions, and mayo.
Are you a fan of this kind of cheese ball? Ever shaped yours into a football? We love this simple ball of goat cheese with parsley and lemon, although it might be suited more to baseball. Or golf.
