This 5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Chicken Is a Problem Solver
There’s no such thing as too many slow cooker chicken recipes. No, really! It’s a fact. Slow cooker chicken is there for us when we have screaming children and have less than five minutes to prepare anything, or when we know it’s going to be a long day at work and we just need something mind-numbingly easy for dinner.
This slow cooker chicken recipe from Fit Foodie Find fits nicely into every I-don’t-want-to-cook situation. Basically, it’s a problem solver.
First of all, you only need five ingredients to make this recipe: chicken breasts, tamari (or soy), honey, Sriracha, and minced garlic. Easy, right? And then there’s the fact that besides mincing garlic, you really don’t have to prep anything.
To start, you put the chicken breasts and minced garlic into the slow cooker to do its thing. Then when the chicken is cooked (about three hours) you take it out to shred. Then you add the other few ingredients to make a sauce over the chicken. Ta-da!
While the recipe does recommend a three-hour cook time, you can increase it if you’re out of the house all day. Lee Hersh of Fit Foodie Finds mentions in the comments that it would be totally fine to run for six to eight hours on the low setting.
Lee also recommends that you serve serve the shredded chicken with rice and broccoli, but I can see changing this up and adding the meat to tacos (because duh), or adding it to a great salad for lunch.
