Every winter, I find myself seeking out extra moments to sip on something warm. I especially love to incorporate this into my nighttime ritual, as I wind down after a long day. While caffeine won’t do, this herbal tea latte is perfect. It’s a mix of chamomile tea and steamed milk that’s sweetened with honey and finished off with just a bit of ground cinnamon.

Think of it as your own Sleepytime tea that also doubles as a nightcap and even satisfies that sweet tooth you have after dinner, thanks to the kiss of honey. It’s the coziest way to treat yourself on a cold night.

A Feel-Good Nightcap for Chilly Winter Evenings

This tea latte is such a nice way to care for yourself. Chamomile tea has a way of calming those nerves that rise up after a hectic day. Here, it’s made extra special with the addition of steamed milk — and don’t worry about needed a fancy milk frother, as you can make it warm and foamy right in a saucepan.

You can use any type of milk, dairy or non-dairy like almond milk, depending on your preferences, too. Sweet, floral honey is a perfect match with chamomile and rounds out the drink. Serve it in big mugs and enjoy with your slippers on and a blanket nearby.

  1. Bring the water to a simmer in a small saucepan. Remove from the heat and add the tea bags. Cover and steep for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the milk in another small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk constantly until warm and frothy, about 5 minutes.

  2. Discard the tea bags from the saucepan of tea, add the honey, and stir until dissolved.

  3. Divide the warm tea between 2 mugs. Divide the frothed milk between the 2 mugs, reserving a bit of the foam with a spoon if you can. Stir gently to combine. Top with the reserved foam, sprinkle with ground cinnamon, and serve immediately.
