There are tons of symbols, motifs, and images that come to mind when summertime rolls around, but for me, a juicy red strawberry is the most synonymous with the season. As soon as spring arrived, I started seeing strawberry-themed home decor everywhere (like these adorable coasters), and with summer in full swing, it might be harder to find something without a strawberry on it! And when it serves multiple uses, it’s almost guaranteed to end up in my cart.

During a recent trip to HomeGoods with my sister, we were perusing through the kitchen and dining section when the most whimsical pitcher caught my eye. Like many HomeGoods shoppers, I wasn’t there looking for anything in particular, and found this piece that would be an instant kitchen summer essential.

Handmade in Portugal, this sage green ceramic pitcher has an intricate and whimsical design of bright red strawberries on a vine. When I first saw it, I imagined it with a bouquet of fresh flowers as a dining table centerpiece, or as a utensil holder to liven up a kitchen countertop. My sister, on the other hand, suggested the pitcher would be perfect for a summertime lunch to serve strawberry lemonade or agua fresca de fresa con crema — our favorite childhood drink consisting of strawberries and sweetened condensed milk.

With so many functions in mind, along with the great quality and craftsmanship, I figured I might have to splurge on this piece. My sister and I both got reverse sticker shock when I flipped it over to check the price — for only $14.99, we each took one home without any guilt! And if it looks familiar, there’s a good reason. I was so excited about my purchase, I did a little research and found that it appears to be a dupe for a much more expensive ($125!) ceramic strawberry pitcher by Bordallo Pinheiro from Sur la Table. It made the deal that much sweeter!

Even if you’re not in the market for a new pitcher, vase, or utensil holder, you just might have to make room in your cabinets for this one. Although HomeGoods no longer sells its items online, its sister site Marshalls still does and it has the same pitcher online for just a dollar more at $15.99. You can also try your local store to see if they’ve got the same summery pitcher in stock, and maybe even get lucky enough to snag the matching strawberry cookie jar so your kitchen can feel like a storybook fairytale. No matter where you shop, this adorable strawberry pitcher will be the perfect summer addition to your home.
