People Are Calling This Controversial Home Depot Hack for Free Unlimited Drink Coasters Totally Ingenious
I don’t know if this would be considered a creative hack, a marketing promotion, or just an all-around clever loophole, but @Countryhomes.Charm just featured a somewhat controversial tip for receiving free luxury coasters.
In the clip posted earlier this week, the popular lifestyle account let us all in on a little-known secret that could be going away soon if their post gets too much attention. The best part? All you have to do is head up to your local Home Depot to achieve it.
According to the post, instead of using your hard-earned money to purchase coasters, you can actually visit a Home Depot or Lowes location nearest you and take a walk over to the vinyl flooring section. Here you can find an array of square-shaped floor samples, in a variety of patterns, that just so happen to be free-of-charge and make for great modern-looking drink coasters.
But what some customers call “free” others call “stealing,” and the opinions appear to be mixed based on all the comments under the post. Comments like “That is so so smart!” and “I just grabbed a whole set of free coasters,” began to pour in to support the idea, but others such as “Uh, that ‘idea’ is actually called ‘Theft’,” made it clear that they are not here for it at all. Likewise, other non-supporters noted that the revelation of this so-called-hack just may change the way the samples are distributed in the near future. “Great so now they’ll have to charge for them … smh,” they quipped.
Now I personally do not condone stealing, but because these coasters — I mean, “samples” — are offered free to the public, I think there might be enough gray area for you to pick up a few and still (see what I did there) maintain a clean conscience about it. However, I will let you use your own discretion and form your own opinions on the matter. Just whatever you do, be safe, have fun, and enjoy the samples while supplies last.
