Home Chef and Impossible Foods Just Dropped a Set of Ready-to-Cook Meatless Meals
Sure, it may seem impossible to find a healthy plant-based meal for your family that requires barely any effort to make. And as it turns out, it now actually is impossible. But not in the way you would think.
In an effort to make weeknight dinner much easier to create, Home Chef has teamed up with Impossible Foods to bring two brand new ready-to-cook meals to the meat department at select Kroger Family stores. Ironic? Sure! But where else would meatless meat belong?
Just in time for the season of hearty meals, these single-serving vegetarian meals are the Chicago-based meal kit and food delivery company’s first in-store products made with the plant-based meat alternative. The Meatloaf with Impossible™ Beef Made From Plants is spiced and seasoned for the flavor of a homestyle meatloaf (hello, tangy glaze and cheesy topping!). The mild Poblano Pepper on the other hand is stuffed with taco-seasoned Impossible™ Beef Made From Plants, onions and tomatoes, and topped with a creamy cheese blend for a delicious plant-based twist on taco night.
Each dish is easy to make in just 30 to 40 minutes in the oven, taking the guesswork out of “Meatless Monday.” “We want to make it as easy as possible for consumers to try Impossible products and experience just how straightforward it is to cook with plant-based meat,” said Impossible Foods’ Vice President of U.S. Retail Sales Sam Perry in a press release.
Impossible is no stranger to combining forces with other companies for tasty nutritious meat-free meals. These new ready-to-cook meals come on the heels of the company’s collab with Valley Fine Foods on the new Three Bridges Egg Bites (quick high-protein breakfasts hitting grocery stores on October 23) and late 2021’s Buitoni Ravioli with Impossible Beef Made From Plants and Impossible Italian Sausage Made From Plants.
The new Home Chef x Impossible Foods meals will retail for $12.99 per pound, and will be available in select Kroger stores nationwide, including Fred Meyer, Dillons, Fry’s, Ralphs, and more (although they won’t be available online).
