Hilary Duff’s Remodeled Kitchen Is Now Incredibly Timeless
Hilary Duff really thought her followers weren’t going to notice her brand new kitchen, huh? Duff posted a sponsored pic from her freshly-redone kitchen on May 1, and her new backsplash and paint a fresh update that will definitely remain timeless.
Remember what the kitchen looked like before? (Here’s a pic of Duff’s husband Matthew Koma posing in front of the blue cabinets and black-and-white backsplash. The kitchen was definitely the boldest room in Duff’s house.)
And it’s still bold! Just in a more understated way.
Duff and Koma opted to replace that iconic diamond-patterned tile with gorgeous glazed emerald tile. Square and rectangle tiles are installed in a fun pattern just above the countertop and then transition into a vertical grid pattern behind the brass open shelving that was salvaged from the prior design.
The deep green color really stands out thanks to the white grout.
And Duff didn’t stop at the new backsplash. She also repainted her kitchen cabinets a creamy white. But she kept the brass hardware that matches the shelving perfectly.
Duff gave her followers a better view of the makeover in her Instagram Story. You can see that the tiling wraps around the entire kitchen, and it likely also appears where the black-and-white tile was underneath that waterfall marble island that separates the kitchen from the living room.
(Take note of the mini kids’ kitchen next to the center island. How adorable is that?)
Though the blue was a fun pop of color and the graphic tile certainly made a statement, this new green and cream color scheme brings so much calm into the space and will stay fresh for years to come.
