Too many appliances on your kitchen counters can make a space feel smaller and more cluttered and, not to mention, decreases precious cooking space. While there are lots of clever hacks for hiding cords and increasing counter space, sometimes you might just wish you could keep your counters totally clear — and this French interior designer made that dream come true.

We’ve seen laundry rooms, trash cans, and spice racks hiding in kitchen cabinets, but Agathe Corbet and her husband, Jeremy, of Nantes, France, took “hiding in plain sight” to a whole new level.

The couple hid every single appliance but the stove — their fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker — behind their sleek kitchen cabinets, so as to “only have beautiful items on display.” J’adore!

What’s more? If you can believe it, Agathe was even able to hide her cat’s litter box inside her built-in banquette seat, so guests don’t even know it’s there. Their kitty, Moustache, now has a sneaky place to finish his business, without taking up floor space in any room (like the bathroom) of the one-bedroom apartment.

With only about 90 square feet, Agathe’s full kitchen renovation makes the most of their limited space, while brightening the 550-square-foot home as a whole. The interior designer set out to totally redo the space and make it more warm, inviting, and functional, outfitting it in dreamy neutrals.

If you’re looking for ingenious ways to declutter your space, take note of this kitchen. If you’re a cat parent in need of a more incognito space for your kitty’s litter box, let Moustache’s lavatory serve as an inspiration. For good measure, and in case you needed a visual, here’s the cutie in question.
