Here’s What a Super-Elaborate Table Setting Looks Like

There are about a million different ways to set the dinner table, and any one of them can be considered correct depending on where in the world you are and what the menu looks like.

A few things that are always pretty consistent: the knife blade should face the plate, the coffee spoon should sit horizontally above the plate and the water goblet should go in the upper righthand corner.

Got that?

Now, if you want to be super formal this Thanksgiving, and plan on serving salad after the main course (it happens!), this elaborate table setting (see picture) is the way you should go.

Or, you could just throw a bunch of forks, knives, and spoons into three separate Mason jars and turn dinner into a help-yourself buffet. Your call.
