Educate Your Eye: 1 Pound of Tomatoes

One pound of tomatoes equates to three tomatoes roughly the size of a baseball. Each tomato should fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. When you’re sizing up the weight of fruits and vegetables by sight, it’s helpful to buy all the same size, so look for three tomatoes that fit this description and you’ll have about one pound.
