Here's How the IPA (Really) Got Its Name!

India Pale Ales, aka IPAs, have a long history that stretches much further back than our current trend of citrusy, tongue-twisting ales. I'd known IPAs were linked to the British army and trade routes to India, but the full story described in this recent Smithsonian article is just fascinating. Scurvy! Spoiled beer! Shenanigans!
