Hit up Etsy for one succulent planter and you’re bound to end up spending the rest of your afternoon poking around on the site. There are so many things! It can obviously be a lot of fun, but it can also be totally overwhelming.

To help you stay a little more focused, we spoke with Etsy’s Trend Expert, Dayna Isom Johnson, to learn about what’s hot right now (among sellers and shoppers). Here’s a curated list of what she’s been noticing recently — plus, some top shopping picks.

3. Mixed metallics

A trend that shows no sign of stopping, the fact that mixed metals are cool means it’s not a big deal if you have rose gold cabinet hardware, a copper stand mixer, and stainless steel appliances. The effect is trickling down to serving and entertaining pieces, too.”Try combining pewter, copper, and gold accents for a glam, multi-metal effect,” Johnson suggests.

4. Tropical leaf prints

Tropical greenery is making its way to kitchen decor, and you don’t even have to be a good gardener to get in on the trend. “From palm leaves to monstera prints, these greenery-inspired items add an organic feel to kitchen accessories,” Johnson points out.

5. Marbled accents

“A sophisticated and timeless material, marble creates an elevated feel in almost any space in the home,” Johnson says. Of course, the marble stuff that’s cool now is way sleeker and more modern than the old vintage stuff. We love seeing marble’s new look in trays, textiles, and more.

7. Painted plates

We’ve always been big fans of the simple white plate, but shoppers have been taking more risks lately, opting for bold hand-painted plates. “Painted plates are a fun option for self-expression in the kitchen. Whether you’re a minimalist, maximalist, or anything in between, painted plates can add personality to any meal,” Johnson says.
