Even with the move to artisanal and homemade, why do so many notable restaurants still serve their French fries with a side of Heinz?

As it turns out, the recipe for Heinz is almost perfect since it hits on all five tastes—sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami.

Even though the science of taste wasn't fully understood when Heinz developed their ketchup recipe, extensive testing or dumb luck led them to a formula that satisfies all of our cravings.
