Hardwood Floors in the Kitchen? 10 Examples Prove They’re Worth It
Prepare yourselves for a major pretty alert: hardwood floors in the kitchen! If you were ever on the fence about this look, we think these 10 kitchens will set you firmly on the pro-wood side.
There’s no denying the beauty and warmth of wood floors, but how do they hold up in the kitchen? When we wrote about this a couple years ago, readers landed on both sides of the issue: some said wood floors were just too susceptible to moisture and dents, while others claimed it a non-issue unless you’re really clumsy around water.
The debate still rages on. Our feeling about it? We tend to think that if you go with a well-sealed hardwood less prone to scratching and dents (stay away from pine and cedar, in other words), then wood floors are a timeless choice you’ll never regret. (They also go particularly well with dark blue cabinets, as seen in photos #3 and #5!)
