Between the plethora of barbecues, fireworks displays, and crowds of people dressed in red, white, and blue, the 4th of July is the official summer kick-off. Whether you are hosting a potluck or heading out to grab a good spot on the lawn for the fireworks show, you’ll want to know which grocery stores are open on July 4. While not everyone has the day off from work for the holiday, some businesses tend to close a little early. 

Check the list below to see which stores will be open for the 4th of July. But before you head out to shop, it’s a good idea to call ahead to double-check your local store’s hours. And who knows? If you plan your shopping accordingly, you may discover some pretty fantastic sales in honor of the big day. 

ACME Markets: Stores will be open for regular hours, but are subject to change. Please confirm with your local market before visiting.

Albertsons: Stores will be open for regular hours.

Aldi: Stores will operate under limited hours; please confirm with your local store before visiting.

BJ’s Wholesale Club: Locations will operate under regular hours; confirm with your local store before making a trip.

Big Y: All locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Fresh Market: Most locations will be open, but be sure to check with your local store first.

Food Lion: Stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., although some locations may be subject to change.

Giant Food: Stores will be open for regular hours.

H-E-B: Stores will be open for regular hours.

H-Mart: Stores will be open for regular hours.

Hy-Vee: Stores should be open for regular hours; please check with your local store before visiting.

Kroger: While some stores will maintain their 24-hour opening, some locations will have reduced hours from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Publix: Most stores will be open during normal hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Please check with your local store before visiting.

Piggly Wiggly: Most locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; please check with your local store before visiting.

Meijer: Stores will be open for regular hours, although some locations may be subject to change.

Ralphs: Stores should be open for regular hours; please check with your local store before visiting.

Safeway: Stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Sam’s Club: Stores will be open, but hours will differ from normal. Plus members can shop from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Club members can shop from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sprouts Farmers Market: Stores should be open for regular hours; please check with your local store before visiting.

ShopRite: Stores will be open for regular hours.

Target: Stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., although some locations may be subject to change.

Trader Joe’s: All stores will be open until 5 p.m.

Vons: Stores will be open for regular hours; please confirm with your local store before visiting.

Wegmans: Stores will be open for regular hours; please confirm with your local store before visiting.

Whole Foods: Most locations will be open under modified hours. Check with your local store before visiting
