Turkeys Cost More than Ever — This Grocery Store Is Selling 16-Pound Ones for $4 Each
Last year the price of whole turkeys rose 7%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. As hosting holiday dinners becomes increasingly expensive, the financial burden on families also grows.
To combat this, retailers across the country are releasing big holiday deals. Dollar General just announced savings on ingredients needed to make popular dishes like pumpkin pie and green bean casserole. Now, Grocery Outlet just rolled out a promotional offer to help shoppers reserve some coins when it comes to shopping for the main event: turkey.
Starting November 13, 2024, Grocery Outlet is offering a major holiday promotion. “Grocery Outlet is offering $3.99 for a whole 14- to 16-pound Jennie-O turkey when shoppers spend $35,” a spokesperson said in a press release.
With this deal, you’ll pay only $0.29 per pound for a turkey, which is nearly half the price retailers like Walmart and Target are promoting nationally. For example, a whole turkey from Target costs about $0.79 per pound.
With this Grocery Outlet promotion, you can use your savings to buy ingredients to make more delicious sides, like savory wild mushroom stuffing or cheesy baked mashed potatoes. You can also stock up on more festive decorations, like the viral Dollar Tree vintage tree dinnerware set or Le Creuset’s new Christmas mugs.
