This Green Grape Salsa Recipe Is the Midday Snack You’ve Been Dreaming Of
I love a fruity salsa. Sure, tomatoes are technically fruit, but throw in some mango chunks or strawberries and you get some sweet notes to complement the spice and acid of a salsa. Recipe developer and content creator Carolina Gelen recently posted an Instagram Reel showing how to make grape salsa, and I’m definitely intrigued.
In the Reel, Gelen says that it’s one of her favorite salsas and notes it to be “super refreshing” and that “everything comes together in one bowl.” And the best part is, it’s really easy to make.
For this recipe to come together, Gelen combines finely chopped green grapes, shallots, jalapeños, cilantro, and mint with puréed grapes. Then, to finish it off, she adds salt, lime zest, and lime juice before mixing everything together.
Of course you can stop here and eat the grape salsa with your favorite chips, but Gelen takes it a step further and makes homemade tortilla chips. Slicing old tortillas into triangles, she fries them in oil until bubbly and crisp. While the chips are frying, she makes a spicy seasoning with garlic powder, hot mustard powder, MSG, cayenne, and salt. The finished chips are placed on a paper towel to drain the excess oil, then topped with the garlic seasoning. “Check out all that flavor,” Gelen says in the voiceover.
All that’s left to do is to serve with the grape salsa and boom! A bomb midday snack, with leftovers to eat later!
