Green City Market: Now Year-Round Chicago

Good news for Chicago marketgoers: The Green City Market is now open year-round! As of January 2009, the market will be open twice a month through mid-April.

Beginning November 1, the market will move to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 Cannon Drive) and continue its every Saturday and Wednesday schedule through December 20.

Starting January 3, 2009, the market will be held on the first and third Saturdays of each month, through April 18. Word at this past weekend's Chicago Gourmet festival was that the winter market will also be held outside the Notebaert Museum in a large tent.

We're guessing the winter market will be heavier on the non-produce items, but it will still be a great spot to get local cheeses, meats, eggs and baked goods. We're also looking forward to lots of winter squash and other produce that can hold up though the cold Midwest winter.
