Spicy-Sweet and So Good: Spiced Honey Crème

We get offered so many products for review, here at The Kitchn, and honestly we turn most of those opportunities down, especially when they are prepared foods. But every now and then one comes along that blows us away, and this spiced honey crème from Honey Ridge Farms is one of them. This stuff is tasty.

Honey Ridge Farms is a small family-owned company that has many lovely honey products. We don't usually go for flavored honey, but when they sent us this one to try, we totally flipped out.

Honey creme is actually creamed honey, which is crystallized honey. But it's not that icky sticky crystallized honey that you get when you leave a bottle alone too long. Creamed honey has been crystallized through a controlled process, so the honey has a thick, creamy, and very spreadable texture, almost like butter.

This particular creamed honey from Honey Ridge is spiced with a warm combination of spices; we taste a lot of nutmeg, and cinnamon. It's warm and spiced, and rich and sweet. It's so good; we can't stop eating it! We put it on biscuits, and in our oatmeal. It's wonderful in lemon tea, too. Ooh and we can't wait to make some honey butter with it.

A little jar of this honey would make the sweetest hostess gift. It's delicious and just right for the season. We're definitely buying another jar (or two) when our stash runs out...
