Great Jones’ Latest Collaboration Will Instantly Brighten Up Your Kitchen (and Your Mood!)
If you hang around here even a little bit, then you’ll know we have a kitchenware crush on Great Jones. And who can blame us? The innovative DTC brand keeps hitting home runs with colorful, fun, and incredibly functional kitchen essentials that fulfill all our cooking (and aesthetic) dreams. Whether it’s the tried-and-true, editor-favorite Holy Sheet pan or the constantly sold-out Fellow kettle collab, it seems there’s just nothing the brand can’t do to put a smile on our faces — and now they’re at it again.
This time, Great Jones has teamed up with a small, Black-owned ceramics studio to create three limited-edition pieces that will make your kitchen the happiest room in your home. The Coy Collection, an Austin-based studio and one-woman show, masterfully crafts tons of charming pieces, like inspirational mugs and cowboy boot vases.(which, IMO, could not be a better complement to Great Jones’ aesthetic).
All three items in the line come in two colors: Cornflower (blue) and Disco Taffy (cream), each one complete with a very apropos little smiley face. All are crafted with high-quality, microwave- and dishwasher-safe ceramic and are 100 percent handmade. Take the mug, for example; it ranges in capacity from 10 to 14 ounces (due to its made-by-hand nature) and has a comfy-to-grip handle. Not to mention, it’s bound to make a stunner of a pair with the brand’s aforementioned Great Fellow Kettle.
The collab also boasts a snazzy Utensil Holder. Keep this cheerful, oversized holder atop your counter to experience the joy you find in cooking reflected back at you in the form of that super-cute, hand-painted smiley face. The crock can hold any and all utensils (maybe Kitchn faves like these GIR tools or the popular Material Soft-Edged Turner, perhaps?) but works wonders when housing the Great Jones Whole Grain Family set. Comprised of three handmade utensils, the set was crafted specifically to accompany Great Jones cookware. The oversized ladle, spatula, and slotted spoon would surely look stylin’ in the Utensil Holder or even atop the third element of the Coy Collection collab: The Spoon Rest.
The Spoon Rest is only available bundled with the Whole Grain Family — but we’re not mad about it. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more thoughtfully curated package, and because each piece is handmade, you can expect a little bit of variation in shape and finish. Sounds great to us, since we’re all about one-of-a-kind finds.
No matter which one(s) of these small-batch pieces you go for, you’ll be bringing a whole lot of extra joy into your cooking space. The only catch? The pieces in the collab are only available while supplies last, so you’d better get on it and ASAP. Happy shopping!
