A new year is upon us and while that may mean creating meal prep resolutions and resetting your home for some, for those with an extreme sweet tooth, what it really means is Girl Scout season is fast approaching. As a former Girl Scout employee (and Girl Scout that was pinned at the age of 21 at the founder’s house in Savannah, Georgia!), I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite times of the year. Not only because of the unlimited access I had to cookies (hello Tagalongs!), but mainly because it showcases the entrepreneurial side of little girls all over the world.

While everyone else may not have the same attachment to the Girl Scouts community that I have, one thing we all have in common is the need to find a way to indulge in the season as often as we can. And with the new Adventurefuls cookie variety debuting this year, chances are you’ll be stocking up much more than you did in years past.

Lucky for you, the wait won’t be too much longer because according to the official Cookie Finder site, troops all over have already begun populating their dates and locations for upcoming cookie sales. How exciting!

Though most booth dates listed aren’t happening until the end of January and the top of February, it’s good to know in advance just what varieties will be available for you to crunch down on. So, what’s included in the lineup this year, you ask? Well, according to the Girl Scouts website, there will be 12 total. And yes, longtime fan-favorites like Tagalongs, Trefoils, and Thin Mints are back to leave more timeless impressions.

Additionally, cookie enthusiasts can look forward to the returning Samoas/Caramel deLites, Do-si-dos/Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Lemonades, and the gluten-free Toffee-tastic cookies. The S’mores variety, Lemon-Ups (which are not to be confused with the Lemonades), Caramel Chocolate Chip, and French toast-insipred Toast-Yay! cookies are all making their way back into the lineup this year as well.

Though last year saw the Girl Scouts of USA left with millions of unsold boxes of cookies by the end of the season (even with a Grubhub partnership) due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, here’s hoping that we can all ban together to turn things around for millions of ambitious girls everywhere.

If it so happens that you just cannot wait until the official marking of the anticipated cookie season, you can always try your hand at making the Original Girl Scout Cookie recipe to hold you over.
