One of the holiday stamp offerings from the U.S. Postal Service this year features four adorable gingerbread houses made by Teresa Layman.
Yahoo! Food spoke with Layman about the process and got a few tips from the expert (she's written two books on making gingerbread houses).
Her best advice? Look for a recipe that doesn't involve leavening agents, which make the gingerbread too soft. And work in a place that is as dry as possible — "gingerbread's biggest enemy is humidity," Layman says.
